Slovakia well off in terms of electromobility

Slovakia is quite well off within the EU in terms of infrastructure for electric cars, said European Commission Vice-president for Energy Union, Maroš Šefčovič. In particular, Šefčovič highlighted the density of charging stations. "We in Slovakia are doing relatively well compared to other EU countries, as it's possible to travel across the entire country by electric car, which isn't the case in all EU-member countries. On the other hand, he pointed to the need for significantly reinforcing the charging station network in order to match the growing number of electric cars. According to Šefčovič, there are 335 charging stations in Slovakia at the moment. He also stressed the need to use modern technologies that enable several cars to be charged at one charging point and make it possible to store cheap night energy and energy from renewable energy sources.
