The Finance Ministry is preparing some interesting legislative changes in 2018. In addition to the amendment to the Building Savings Act, for example, the ministry also wants to introduce the taxation of cryptocurrencies into legislature. Talks on changes to the building savings system have been going on for a long time, now the Finance Minister revealed that in the future the building premium should be linked to monthly income, with higher earners not being eligible to receive state premiums. According to the minister, the changes are besides other things, also motivated by the fact that public funds should rather support rental housing than private housing. Speaking about cryptocurrencies, Kažimír wants to tax the trading and the exchange of payments by these currencies in exchange for goods. At the same time, the state should not regulate the use of cryptocurrencies as such.
