Slovak ice hockey players under 20 caused a sensation at the Under 20 World Championships in Buffalo, USA, beating the US team 3:2. Despite their 0:6 loss against Canada in their first match, the Slovaks are thus still close to quarterfinals. The success was secured mainly thanks to the goalie Roman Durný. The winning goal was shot by Samuel Buček only 2 minutes before the match's end.
