2018 filled with commemorative events

In 2018, Slovakia will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of an independent Czechoslovakia, the 50^th anniversary of the Czech-Slovak revival process known as the Prague Spring, and the 25^th anniversary of the creation of the modern statehood. Many of the events in connection with these anniversaries will be attended by the most senior state officials. The festive year will kick off on January 1^st, with a ceremonial Cabinet meeting to commemorate the 25^th anniversary of the establishment of an independent Slovak Republic. At the event, ministers will also look back at the quarter century of quite extraordinary bilateral cooperation between the Slovak and Czech Republics.
