The unemployment rate in Slovakia in November 2017 stood at 5.59%, down by 0.19 percentage points (p.p.) month-on-month and by 2.83 p.p. year-on-year, wrote the TASR press agency citing data from the Labour Ministry on Wednesday. The number of jobseekers immediately able to take up a job was over 162,000 in November, a decrease by more than 5,000 individuals m-o-m and by more than 76,000 y-o-y. As for individual regions, all eight Slovak regions recorded cuts in the unemployment rate in November, with the Banská Bystrica region seeing the most significant drop. Slovakia now has 39 districts with an unemployment rate below 5%, and 24 districts below 10%. At the moment there are only three districts where unemployment is above 15%.
