The case of the Slovak racewalker and Olympic winner from Rio de Janeiro 2016, Matej Tóth, whose career was indefinitely suspended in June this year for doping suspicions is still not closed. On October 4th, the Disciplinary committee of the Slovak Athletic Union decided that Tóth had not broken any anti-doping rules and cancelled his ban. However, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has still not issued a stance to this decision. The IAAF should originally have made their decision by December 3rd, later extending the period to December 18th then December 20th, however, it still has not published any statements. "The waiting has been difficult and stressful, but I still find my case has not been closed," stated Tóth in his statement regarding the case.
