Survey: Trust in EU up to 48% in Slovakia

According to the Eurobarometer survey conducted this autumn, 41% of EU citizens expressed trust in the EU. The highest rate of 64% was recorded in Lithuania. In 10 countries, trust in the EU had increased since spring 2017, including Slovakia with 48%. Natália Podkonická from the European Commission representation in Slovakia also informed that the majority of EU citizens, with the exception of Greece and the UK, remain optimistic about its future. The highest percentage was recorded in Ireland, up to 80%, while Italy and France showed at the bottom of this survey category. 44% of EU citizens agree that "their voice matters". Europeans regard the free movement of people, goods and services as well as peace between EU member states to be the top advantages of the EU membership.
