Anastasia Kuzmina has had a fantastic start to the Olympic season. The Russian-born Slovak biathlete won the 7.5km sprint race in the third round of the World Cup series in Le Grand-Bornand, France. This is already her second World Cup victory this season. Crossing the line in a time of 20:59.60 proved a comfortable win for Kuzmina as Germany's Laura Dahlmeier secured the silver medal 33.9 seconds back, with Ukraine's Vita Semerenko taking bronze, a further 7.5s behind. Anastasia Kuzmina, who is a double Olympic champion in the 7.5km sprint, had been without success in any discipline since March 2014.
