The Transshipment Terminal in Dobrá, close to Čierna nad Tisou in the easternmost point in the country, could soon be moved further west - specifically to Košice. Earlier this year, an unknown British investor showed an interest in building a new logistics center there. The investor wants to benefit from the project of the new Silk Route from China to Europe. Prime Minister Robert Fico broke this news at Wednesday's special HNClub news forum. According to Fico, such a logistics center could service from 200 to 500 trains a year. Currently, the trains from the East transship their cargo in Čierna nad Tisou, where the broad gauge railway ends. However, the volume of transshipped containers is quite low, as the station services roughly one train per week. However, in the next few years, the quantity should be rising rapidly.
