Slovakia is very likely to participate in the dismantling of chemical weapons in Syria, stated Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák. “We are 100% ready to go in and do the task. The only question which remains now is which things we are to offer”.
Last week, Prime Minister Robert Fico spoke with the US vice-president Joe Biden about the elimination of chemical weapons in Syria and now the talks continue on the level of experts in the field. Foreign Minister Lajčák confirmed that this task would not be solemnly delegated to Slovakia, but it would be an international operation. Slovakia is ready to deploy its experts from the area of radiation, chemical and biological protection, the ministry confirmed.
