Co-governing Most-Híd party will not vote for the freezing of constitutional officials' salaries, party leader Béla Bugár said on Saturday. Thus, the party reacted to Prime Minister Robert Fico, who said last week that he was ready to link the vote on freezing salaries to a no-confidence motion in the Government. "At the moment it's not about salaries, but about whether it's enough if the Government or the prime minister says: either you freeze salaries, or the Government falls. There will be no salary freeze. We will not vote for it. It's irrelevant whether these salaries are increased by €1 or €100. Parliament is not subordinated to the Government," stated Bugár. Most-Híd believes it's time to adopt a systemic solution that would cover not only salaries of constitutional officials, but also those of managers in state-run companies.
