It is essential for nuclear energy to form an integral part of Energy Union, stated Deputy Economy Minister Vojtech Ferencz during the 10th SET Plan-Central European Energy Conference 2017 in Bratislava. "Nuclear power will be significant for Slovakia and other EU-member states not only in terms of providing energy supply but also in terms of the transition to a low-carbon economy," he added, stressing that boosting energy supply security as well as the responsibility of member states in this area should be a basic criterion and a stabilising element of the Energy Union. Regarding innovations in the energy sector, Ferencz said that a concept of smart grid development would be prepared in the future.
