According to a study by the European Centre for Policy Reform and Entrepreneurship cited by the Denník N daily last week, Bratislava is the European capital with the highest density of the so-called brain business positions. These positions include architects, programmers, managers, scientists, marketers, designers and similar jobs. Silvia Jeleníková from Dell EMC said for the daily that requirements on employees are increasing and companies are starting to build their expert centres here. However, Ján Suchal of the Slovensko.Digital civic association was more restrained, saying that international corporations are still looking for a cheap and well qualified workforce here, but that this is now moving to the Balkans. According to the study, only 5% of people living in EU countries have brain business positions, whereas in Bratislava it is 18%. However, Slovakia as a country ranked 10th in this aspect in the EU. The study also adds that Slovakia is a country with the biggest differences between capitals and other regions.
