On Wednesday, the Slovak President Andrej Kiska spoke in the Mexican Senate, as the first Slovak president in history. In his speech, among other things, he expressed concern about the growth of nationalism and populism in society. Touching on economic issues, Kiska also stated that both Mexico and Slovakia are heavily dependent on one partner in trade: Mexico on the US and Slovakia on the EU. Therefore, both countries should undergo similar changes in this sphere. According to the Slovak president, we need to support innovations, start-ups, and develop good education reforms. The Slovak president's visit to Mexico is aimed at developing mutual relations in both political and economic fields. This is the first-ever visit of a Slovak President to Mexico.
