The Slovak Republic will provide an extraordinary contribution to the European Union Emergency Trust Fund for stability and addressing the root causes of irregular migration and displaced persons in Africa. This was agreed by the government on Wednesday. The contribution amount is €1 million, with the funds to be focused towards North Africa. Through this, Slovakia aims to improve living conditions in the countries of origin for migrants, stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs Miroslav Lajčák. Since the outbreak of the migration and refugee crisis, Slovakia has maintained a view of targeting the root causes of illegal migration and stopping migration flows.
