Runner-up asks for a check of vote count in Košice regional election

The unsuccessful candidate for the post of Košice governor and incumbent Košice mayor Richard Raši (Smer-SD) filed a motion with the Constitutional Court to examine the process of vote counting in the November 4 regional elections, TASR press agency reports citing the Smer-SD party Košice regional organisation. In the election for the post of Košice governor, Rastislav Trnka, supported by opposition parties, beat Raši by a narrow margin of 875 votes. Raši wants the result of the governor election in the Košice region to be declared invalid. The district election committee's motion came just before the end of the ten-day deadline within which it's possible to object to the course of the election.
