The state rail company Železnice Slovenskej republiky (ŽSR) has abandoned its plan to construct a container terminal for €52 million in Lužianky near Nitra that should have also served for the Jaguar Land Rover plant, according to the SME daily. It has scrapped the project due to the low number of companies interested in using the terminal. While there were originally as many as 53 interested entities, the number eventually shrunk to a mere seven. The construction of the terminal wasn't part of the Government's agreements with the British car maker on placing its investment in Nitra.
