In the Wednesday government session, members of parliament gave the green light to the planned mass-purchase of armoured combat vehicles, with Cabinet having discussed this plan a week earlier. According to President Andrej Kiska, this investment should be as transparent as possible, with the involvement of opposition parties also deciding on details of the deal. Minister of Defence, Peter Gajdoš expects the army to engage the Slovak defence industry in its modernisation plans and create its own vehicles.
