Russian chess legend Karpov to attend Bratislava's Xmas tournament

Russian chess grandmaster Anatoly Karpov, currently a legislator of Russia's State Duma, will come to Bratislava in mid-December to attend a Christmas chess tournament that will be held as part of the city's Christmas markets. Parliamentary Chairman Andrej Danko informed about this after meeting Karpov in Moscow on Monday, which is part of Dankos official four-day official visit to Russia. The chess champion, who is currently serving as vice-chairman of the committee for the State Duma's international relations, at a private meeting with Danko later in the afternoon promised to play a game against the winner of Bratislava's chess tournament. Danko also presented Karpov with a gift - a handmade tin chess set from Slovakia.
