Approximately 30 experts unhappy with their salaries at the V2nuclear power plant in Jaslovské Bohunice, Trnava region handed in their notice at the end of October. Subsequently, the Civic Information Committee will have to look into the security of the plant. According to its chair, Gilbert Liška, the committee cannot solve personnel or salary related problems. "The security of the operation could be endangered if people without sufficient experience were hired to fill the free vacancies," said Liška, adding that the committee would be interested in how experts will be replaced. A spokesperson from the plant, Miroslav Šarišský, confirmed the notices, but did not specify their number. He said that they do not have any impact on the operation of the plant. Šarišský finds the requirement of a 30% increase in salaries inadequate as their incomes are 2.5 to 3.7 times higher than the average income in Slovakia.
