The First Accusation of Electoral Corruption Ever

For the first time ever Slovak police have accused somebody of electoral corruption. During the regional election a 40 year old man allegedly promised people rewards of €5 discount vouchers and tobacco if they voted for certain candidates in the Banská Bystrica region.

If found guilty, the man could face a prison sentence of between one and five years. Police are investigating two other cases of suspected bribery in elections.
