Slovakia should have its first effective cybersecurity legislation from March 2018. The Cabinet approved a bill on cybersecurity, submitted by the National Security Authority. The bill will include measures proposed by the EU directive known by the acronym NIS, which is the first piece of EU-wide legislation on cybersecurity. It provides legal measures to boost the overall level of security of networks and information systems within the Union. It should strengthen the competences of the relevant national authorities, increase their mutual coordination and introduces a culture of security across sectors.
