The Interior Ministry is able as of Tuesday to release more secure electronic signatures for all holders of electronic ID cards, deactivating at the same time the old signatures. The Interior Ministry began notifying all eID holders with activated electronic signatures that they would be able to obtain more secure electronic signatures with a volume of 3,027 bytes at client centres throughout the country. The move comes in the wake of a recent finding that existing software for electronic signatures was not secure enough and that signatures could have been misused by hackers.
