Strong winds should stop on Monday

The extremely strong winds that have battered most of Slovakia should calm down on Monday. For most of western Slovakia and the Poprad district in the north, the Slovak Hydrometeorogical Institute Issued first grade wind warnings valid until Monday evening. On Sunday, a total of 800 professional firefighters and volunteers helped around the country and thousands of households were left without electricity after strong winds according to TASR. As Zuzana Farkašová of the Firefighter and Emergency Corps said, "the firefighters were most often summoned to remove fallen trees blocking state roads and endangering parked cars. In some places, trees that fell on electric power lines caused blackouts lasting for hours".
