The official opening of the traditional Christmas Markets in Bratislava took place on Friday evening, November 22nd. Following up on the challenge from the previous year, a Guinness record in the number of lit fire-sparklers was broken, with visitors lighting 2000 sparklers at the same time.
According to the American company Frommer's, which specialises in publishing tourist guides, the Bratislava Christmas markets belong among the world's top ten. This year they will be opened at the Main Square till December 23rd, together with the attractions such as an ice-rink and a stage, where artists from all over Slovakia will perform.
