On average, two young lawyers will enter the very first collective selection for the position of judge, it appears from the preliminary number of 263 applicants. The chosen candidates will make up a database for the prompt replacement of positions left vacant by a leaving judge. The collective selection of judges was adopted by Justice Minister Lucia Žitňanská. She considers this a way of securing increased transparency regarding the choice and rapid replacement of staff.
