Internet banking on the rise

The use of internet banking services in Slovakia has already expanded to the same level as in the European Union. Based on the data from Eurostat, last year around 45% of all Slovaks used internet banking, which is only four percentage points behind the average of the Union. Ten years ago, roughly every seventh Slovak would bank via the internet. Besides the increased internet coverage across the country, the rising use of internet banking is also a result of banks actively favouring internet banking compared to visiting their branches in person.
