After more than a year a prosecutor has once again pressed charges against the former director of Piešťany Hospital and eight other people who are alleged to have been involved in a scandal surrounding the purchase of an overpriced CT scanner in 2014, Trend weekly reported on its website on Tuesday. According to the daily, since early October the ex-hospital director and eight members of the administrative board and expert commission have been charged with the particularly serious crime of violating obligations when administering the property of others. The same people were charged over the case in the past, but the Prosecutor-General's Office dropped the charges in April 2016 because it considered an expert opinion on quantifying the amount of potential damage in the case to be inadequate.
