The Summit for an equal quality of products for all is being held in Bratislava on Friday. The summit is being attended by the Slovak, Czech, Hungarian and Polish prime ministers and ministers as well as the EU Justice, consumer and gender equality commissioner Věra Jourová. In his opening speech Prime Minister Robert Fico said that he will not be happy until the unfair trading practices stop seeing the summit in Bratislava as an important step towards this goal. According to Agriculture minister Gabriela Matečná, this topic is testing the consumers' trust in the EU and its institutions. "By 30th November, EU member states have the opportunity to apply for grants for quality tests based on the same methodology which should ensure that the real scale of the problem is found, showing the number of low quality products and the affected countries," said the EU commissioner. So far, these tests have been carried out in 8 countries. Following these results, the EU does not find the double quality of products to be a marginal problem.
