How to boost trust in courts?

President Andrej Kiska met Judicial Council chair Lenka Praženková on Thursday. They discussed the public's level of confidence in courts, the retirement of judges after turning 65 and the appointment of new judges. "We're putting our heads together to figure out how to restore that level of trust and what to do in order for people to believe that courts will always act in an objective fashion and in the public interest," said Kiska. Praženková claimed that the Judicial Council is genuinely interested in bolstering confidence in the judiciary. She finds the replacement of judges to be a natural phenomenon.
