President contests changes in the Regulatory Office for Network Industries

President Andrej Kiska is going to contest the amendment to the Act on Regulation in Network Industries at the Constitutional Court. The head of the state does not like the fact that the president of Slovakia should no longer appoint and recall the chairman of the regulatory office, but the government would have this in its hands, which will make the Regulatory Office for Network Industries head even more dependent on the government and its political pressure. Economy Minister Peter Žiga is surprised that the president did not contest the amendment few months ago, as it was passed in June 2017.
