Dozens of companies have been punished with higher sanctions for illegal employees. A team of inspectors suggested as much as €170,000 in fines for a total of 73 firms, the spokesperson for the National Labour Inspectorate confirmed for the Hospodárske Noviny business daily. The Cabinet estimates the number of illegal workers in Slovakia stands at approximately 60,000.
