Education Ministry might see further personnel changes

Personnel changes in reaction to a shady distribution of EU funds at the Education, Science, Research and Sports Ministry might continue, said the new minister Martina Lubyová on Saturday. "You might not know it, but I've already made some substantial changes, while working on others," said the minister, adding that the most recent one concerns the general secretary of the ministry's service office." Nonetheless, Lubyová said she believed that personnel moves at the ministry would not resolve the gist of the problem, as it is more complex. Independent MP Zuzana Zimenová, stated that the problem with EU funds also concerns the "senselessness of some projects that only serve for the speedy drawing of EU funds". Moreover, Zimenová called for taking into consideration the meaningfulness of projects, which, according to her is still not being done.
