The Health Ministry will eventually have to return €3.8 million, minus VAT, of EU funds to the Finance Ministry. The money was approved for the National Project Electronic Services of the health care sector that is one of the phases of the introduction of eHealth in Slovakia.
The department blames the situation on ex-minister Ivan Uhliarik from the Christian Democrat Party. Its current management said that former finance and health ministers decided on a change of the original contract when arranging given services.
