An unknown offender in Kosice city has been effectively breaking the law every night for eight years, by unlawfully using public electricity to illuminate a roadside billboard.
The billboard located on Opatovská Road, had been tapped into an electricity source reserved for street lighting back in 2005 with the theft only being discovered this month. “The offender has caused damages to the municipality of Košice amounting to more than €25,000 euro,” said the Košice Regional police spokesman Alexander Szabó. Police opened a criminal investigation in the unusual case.
