The religious event of the decade - that is the beatification of Titus Zeman - is to be held this weekend. Pope Francis authorized the promulgation of the Decree of Martyrdom of this Salesian Priest in February. Titus Zeman was persecuted in the 1950s and 1960s by the then communist regime. He died as a result of torture and imprisonment in 1969. The act of beatification will be performed by Cardinal Angelo Amato in Bratislava on Saturday.
