Bratislava not among the favourite places for EMA employees

About 84% of European Medicines Agency (EMA) staff might resign if it relocates from London to Bratislava after Brexit, according to the Politico newsite. It cites leaked details of an internal survey among employees on the impact on staff retention scenarios. The agency released the general conclusions of the survey on Tuesday but refuses to name specific cities or comment on Politico's report, which places Amsterdam at the top of favourite destinations. The agency warns that staff retention is crucial for the approval of new drugs and safety monitoring to continue. Bratislava is one of the 19 candidates which would like to accommodate it. Slovak Health Minister Tomáš Drucker has labelled the report as "speculations" adding that he remains optimistic about Bratislava's offer. The decision on EMA's relocation rests with EU leaders who will try to reach a deal at their next summit in October, with a final official decision expected a month later.
