In 2016, Slovaks had the highest debts in the eastern European region, indicates the Global Wealth Report study conducted by Allianz. A Slovak person's average debt is almost €6,200, whereas the average for a region is below €3,400. According to the data, the debts of Slovaks have tripled over the past ten years and their debts grew by 10.8% last year. The study also reads that debts are growing all around the world, most significantly in China.
