50 nations sign UN nuclear weapons ban, Slovakia does not

The treaty prohibiting nuclear weapons opened for signature on Wednesday at United Nations Headquarters in New York. Slovakia will not sign the new proposed agreement, as according to the Slovak Foreign Ministry, Slovakia follows the joint opinion of the NATO member states, which supports nuclear disarmament and nuclear weapons control on the basis of the already existing 1968 Non-Proliferation Treaty.
