Peter Bebjak's movie Čiara, The Line, will be the Slovak national nominee for an Academy Award in the foreign language category. The members of the Slovak Film and Television Academy decided this nomination on Thursday. The movie, which depicts the lives of smugglers on the Slovak-Ukraine border in the mid-2000s, was premiered in summer at the Karlovy Vary festival, where Bebjak won the Best Director Award.
