More than 51 million euros shall be allocated to fight discrimination against the Roma. The country's strategic document on the integration of the Roma by 2020 has two new action plans, which are focused on fighting discrimination and integrating the Roma into the majority society. The material which was prepared by the Interior Ministry together with the office of the government's proxy for Roma communities was approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday. Based on the 2015 Eurobarometer results, up to 46 percent of Slovak Roma feel discriminated against. Moreover, further research has confirmed that there is a high level of discrimination against the Roma in Slovakia, which is accompanied by poor awareness of opportunities for protection.
