The wine maker Villa Vino Rača expects to harvest fewer grapes this year. The Director General of the company, Jan Krampl, informed that the y/y drop is projected at some 30%. However, a higher quality will compensate for the shortfall, he expects. However, the situation with the wine shortage this year is similar in other European countries as well. It is estimated that the total production of wine in the European Union will be 10% lower this year compared to last year's 148 million hectolitres.
