The Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party announced on Monday that it's collected enough signatures among MPs to be able to initiate a no-confidence motion in Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák (Smer-SD) in Parliament over allegedly protecting a corrupt businessman from investigation. "The political position of Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák is incomparably worse than that of Peter Plavčan," said SaS chairman Richard Sulík, hinting to the fact that Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) has created a precedent by urging education minister Peter Plavčan (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) to resign over an EU funds scandal at the ministry last month. Slovak National Party (SNS) first vice-chairman Jaroslav Paška said on Monday that he sees no reason to call for the dismissal of Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák (Smer-SD), according to the TASR press agency.
