Britain to limit labour migration from the EU

Slovak warehouse workers, caretakers or fruit pickers who come to the United Kingdom after Brexit will be allowed to stay there only for a time span of two years. This stems from a document leaked from the British Home Office. According to the document, which was published by the Guardian daily on Wednesday, the British government wants to limit the arrival of low-skilled labour from the Union by 2019. Those in "high-skilled occupations", such as doctors, scientists or IT specialists will be granted permits to work for a longer period of three to five years. At the moment, there are around 90,000 Slovaks living and working in the UK.
