A lack of skilled, unemployed Slovaks and their replacement by people from third countries has been reported increasingly, lately. Much less is known, however, about the fact that many firms which lack skilled employees prefer to solve their employee problems by investing into the automation of their plants instead, with the trend to invest more in robotics expected to be larger in the future in Slovakia than abroad. "According to the OECD study, more than 45 percent of jobs in Slovakia are likely to be automated and digitized," Wincott People's Managing Director Jana Mesárová explained to the SME daily.
