A special parliamentary session with a no-confidence motion against Labour, Social Affairs and Family Minister Jan Richter (Smer-SD party) will take place on Thursday, September 7 at 3 p.m., according to the TASR press agency. It was initiated by the Opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party jointly with OĽaNO-NOVA and We Are Family movements due to a scandal involving the alleged sexual abuse of under-age clients at the Clean Day resocialisation centre which was licensed by the Ministry. The Opposition believes the minister failed in his dealing of this case by refusing to withdraw it after the scandal broke out. The coalition Slovak National Party (SNS) also has a problem with Richter. It has not yet officially said whether it supports his ouster. However, its coalition partners Smer-SD and Most-Hid point out that if SNS votes with the Opposition, it would mean the end of the coalition.
