On Thursday, two Slovak polling agencies, AKO and Polis, released their survey results regarding a general election. Both reports agree on the top three parties. Had a general election taken place in August, it would have been won by the Smer-SD party, followed by the Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party and then by the far-right People's Party Our Slovakia (ĽSNS). In total, 8 parties would be in the parliament, according to both agencies. Both polls also show that all three coalition parties, Smer-SD, Most-Híd and the Slovak National Party (SNS) have experienced a drop, with the nationalists posting the most significant one. On the other hand, the far-right ĽSNS is on the rise. Both surveys were carried out after the start of the currently ongoing coalition crisis which was initiated by the chair of the SNS, Andrej Danko.
