The Central Office for Labour has stated that over 43,000 foreigners were working in Slovakia at the end of July. Year-to-year, this is an increase of over 12,000 people. The most numerous group on the Slovak labour market are citizens from Romania. In July, there were 8,200 Romanians working in Slovakia, representing a year-to-year increase of 1,200. In second place are citizens from Serbia. In total, 7,500 Serbs have come to Slovakia to work, representing a significant year-to-year increase of 4,500 people. The third largest population group of foreigners in Slovakia are the Czechs. Almost every third foreigner in Slovakia works in Bratislava.
