Jaguar Land Rover is looking for its facilities in Nitra's strategic park to be larger than previously planned, as evidenced by its project submitted for an environmental impact assessment, TASR learnt on Tuesday. The carmaker wants to expand its Material Planning & Logistics facility from 64,000 to 75,000 square metres. In addition, a Powertrain facility covering 48,000 square metres involved in the assembly of battery modules should be added. The changes are also envisaged to require more labour - an additional 2,000 staff at the two facilities. The carmaker has previously announced plans to launch production itself in late 2018.
