'The Teacher' in running for European Film Award

The Slovak-Czech film 'The Teacher' has been recommended for a nomination in the feature film category at the European Film Awards 2017 by the European Film Academy and EFA Productions, TASR learnt from the flick's producer Ľubica Orechovská from a company called PubRes. The film has been shortlisted along with another 50 movies representing film-making in 31 countries. In the next few weeks over 3,000 EFA members are set to vote for the nominations, which will be announced in Seville on November 4. The winners of the 30th European Film Awards will be revealed in Berlin on December 9. Orechovska said that the film - set in the 1980s and depicting an educator who abuses her position and manipulates those around her - is doing exceptionally well on markets abroad with several dozen contracts for the film's sales and distribution having been signed.
